Honey-Baked Chicken


Anak-anak saya nih pelik sikit. Mereka tidak suka ayam goreng. KFC ke Popeye ke mereka akan beli melts and burger instead... cuma lately ada Texas chicken mereka akan makan separuh jer dari seketul chicken tu... pening sesekali malas nak masak dan nak makan di luar pun mereka akan cakap Umie I dun like fried chicken...

Jika si taruna anak bujang pula dah nampak logo halal pun dia akan tanya lagi Halal ke umie? Adoiiilah...

So jadinya Honey-Baked chicken jugalah yang menjadi kegemaran mereka, tak kisahlah lauk lain... tapi mereka suka makan bersama Chicken Rice...

Semalaman perap bersama honey, chopped garlics,  black pepper. salt and lemon juices... bungkus dalam aluminium foil with all the ingredients and masukan dalam esbok, esoknya kuarkan masuklah dalam oven... senang citer bake sampai masak... amin

Mee Soto dan Bagedil ketang berdaging


Saya ni memang susah nak makan daging. So selalu rasa lemah otot. Tapi menjak saya include masakkan berdaging segar bugar pulak... kemain laju saya berjalan dan tidak mengalami sakit lutut pulak... maklumlah umor dah lebih nih... kene jaga permakanan supaya tidak keterlaluan sangat bakal memudaratkan diri... man man lai lah kata orang cina... hihihi

Sejak kecil saya suka Mee Soto kalau dapat hari-hari pun saya ok... tapi akan tetapi takkan nak makan ini ajer kasihan anak-anak  dan suami saya... so biler agak dah gian saya pun buatlah... ala simple jerr semua orang pun tahu bikin mee soto kannnnn

Apalah Mee Soto jika tiada bagedil sedap berdaging kisar dan sambal kicapnya... waduhhh terangkat punggung dari kerusi... hehehehe

Black Pepper Salmon


One dish meal. One dish meal is so much easier and hassle free.

Ehe cakap omputih pulak... hihihihi makan dengan nasi panas2 Nyummmm mentelah musim tengkujuh nih... tak payah lauk lain dah... aminn

Resipinya mudah losts of shallots, minced garlic, hirisan halia, black pepper sauce, lada padi, lots of tomato and sos tiram RAM RAM RED! hihihihihi

Alkisah dah mula cuti sekolah ini... mulalah operasi besar-besaran duduk di dapur sebelom berlibur dan bersantai.

Anak-anak zaman sekarang bukan macam kita dedulu. Makanan melayu lah menjadai santapan harian. Anak-anak sekarang terdedah dengan segala dan keperbagaian jenis makanan hampir di setiap pelusuk negara.

Jika nak makan luar jerr... boleh bankurap jadinya... hahahahhaa... jadi saya bertekad biar penat asal anak-anak puas makan. Dan jika di hidangkan dengan makanan dari masakan ibu sendiri alangkah bahagianya dari air tangan si ibu yang menyuapkan anak-anak. Lagi pun bukanlah mahal sangat jika apabila di masak sendiri berbanding dengan makan di luar darjah...

Apabila kepasar saya memang peruntukkan tidak lebih dari $50 dollar seminggu. Alhamdullillah so far syukur saya dpt mempertahankan kedudukan budget seminggu.

InsyaAllah jika ada usaha pasti ada jayanya. InsyaAllah.

Laksa Assam Kolibuwuk


Assalammualaikum wahai sahabat sekalian. Memang mengindam laksa nih dah lama cuma takde geng nak makan sama. Anak-anak manalah reti makan camginikan. Makanya untuk kami berdua suami isteri sahaja.

Tertunai hajat di hati apabila teringin makan laksa penang yang pernah saya makan di sebuah restorant. Apabila saya makan selalunya saya akan menghayati makanan tersebut kalau boleh pejam mata pejam lah cikunun nak tahu apa isi di dalam hahahahahhahahahahahhahahha...

So terciptalah Laksa Assam atau penang versi Kolibuwuk ini... ermmmm lazatnya berpeloh kami suami isteri menyantap penoh syahduh sekali... hihihi

Ramuan untuk berdua sahaja
Mee laksa pendek yang saya gunakan
2 tbsp petis
2 biji limau kasturi (di belah dua dan perahkan)
Salmon grilled or canned tuna
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp sweet dark sauce
1 kecil asam keping (optional)
1 tbsp sambal belacan

Daun kesum, lada merah di hiris, cendawan shiitake (optional) dan udang (saya gunakan crab meat). Rasanya semua cukup rasa ada asam, manis dan pedas yang teramat LOL.

Burger Wrap with Prata


 ni version tertutup rapi manis santun gitu... hehehehhe


yang ini pula telah siap sedia di qurbani LOLs!

Budak-budak nih kan kalau prata nih susah nak habis kita pulak 'tamak on'... kalau beli prata instant mesti beli yang big packet ... yelah lebih muai dan murah kan... tapi ya ampown nak habiskan makan bulan wooo...

So semlm mak tengok Food Network cam biasa... suka cara Paula memasak semua comfort food... aduhai mengembanglah semua kannnn tapi interesting lah cara dia... simple and delicious. Btw Puala guna dough roti tapi mak ehem ehem suka jer adjust orangnya resipikannn hahahhaha.

Ada pula belen grilled salmon mak bikin lah Salmon croquettes sekali gus mashed potato... sekali babah tetiba tersound lah dia kata kalau kita hari2 makan cam gini nanti semua kene naik trolley sebab dah borat sangat LOL... ok2 today masak laksa penang lah kan gan nasi selera melayu... hahahahahhaha

Resipi inti Burger wrap tu mak bikin ikut selera kita orang melayu lah kan

Burger Wrap
1/2 kg minced meat
1 big onion minced
3 garlic minced
salt pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon cili powder and turmeric

Instant Prata to wrap and washed it with egg mixed with milk.

Salmon Croquettes
Salmon Flakes from my leftover grilled salmon
onions minched
parsley and spring onion chop
salt pepper and bread crumbs or crushed biscuit
1 teaspoon sugar 

Mixed everything and dip into beaten egg and coat with bread crumbs and deep fry it.

Grilled Salmon with Mashed Potato


Masa hujung minggu babah bebudak nih ajak pergi Sembawang Giant terlonjak-lonjak lah mak kesukaan macam lah nak pergi shopping sakan gitu.

Di situ mak suka benar beli salmon sekor-sekor which is so much cheaper compared to slice salmon. So apabila pulang anak-anak dapat tahu ada salmon maka terlonjak-lonjak sama.

Chee Cheong Fun


Semalam saya beli bahan-bahannya yang telah siap dan kami anak beranak makan chee cheong fun dengan senang hati. Bahan-bahannya mudah terdapat di sini. Seperti chee cheong fun itu sendiri, tetapi nak jugalah saya mencobanya... the last time I've tried was pretty messy now dah jumpa videonya haruslah saya buat kerana anak dara saya sangat suka makanan ini.

Tanpa saya sedari saya dah boleh bikin udang kering floss juga! Rupanya semlm selepas saya merendam udang kering sekali tu masih blom-blom kembang maka saya rebus... setelah rebus saya tumbuk halus dan goreng bersama chaipo... SubhanaAllah sangat sedap di floss dengan sedikit gula... hawuslah saya membuatnya lagi untuk topping roti dan sebaganya.. amin.

Pineapple Rice and Garlic Buttered Prawn


There are times when life just feels soooooooo good, delicious food makes you even more happier.

My husband had his day off yesterday and craving a sumptuous meal. Despite of having an eye infection, still I enjoy simple pleasure of cooking a good meal for my family.

I did not fried the rice as my husband quite particular about oily food. Instead, simply puts everything in the rice pot and steam as per normal. What a marvellous simple meal!

2 cup of rice
1 cube chicken stock Knorr or liquid chicken stock
1 big onion sliced
1 inch ginger sliced
3 garlic sliced
1/2 turmeric powder
1/2 sweet pineapple cut into cubes
1 cinnamon stick
2 tbsp sesame oil (optional)

Coriander, peanuts, sliced red chillies, spring onions for dressing or chicken floss.


Well, we can't simply make do with pineapple rice alone, right? . Definitely we need salad or side dishes to go with. So I cooked Garlic Buttered Prawns to spice up the meal.

Pan-grilled the tiger prawns with minced garlic and little bit of olive oil. The sauce made of 3 tbsp of butter, a spoonful of flour, 1/3 cup of milk, 1 slice cheddar cheese salt and pepper. DONE!

Seafood Platter with Turmeric Steam Rice & more


It was to celebrate my eldest son's birthday. He loves to eat anything home cook, just yesterday I realised he was much taller than me *gulps*.

Resipinya 
2 cup bhasmati rice or any other rice will do.

1 big Onion
4 garlics
3 shallots
1/2 inch ginger
blend all the above
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 cube chicken knorr
1/2 cup carnation milk (optional)
2 tbsp butter

Butter cheesy sauce
3 tbsp of butter
6 tbsp parmesan shredded cheese
2 tbsp mayo
1 tbsp dijonnaise mustard (optional)
lemon juice
pepper

Pan grilled all the seafood with olive oil or butter added salt and pepper.


He specially requested fluffy Cheese Cake yet oozing from the inside. I forgotten which resipi for this cake hahahahahha I should start owning a recipe journal. LOLs!


Last but not least is the salted egg deep frying soft shell crab... a true delicacy! His favorite among all..

Clean soft shell crabs, dipped in a bit of milk, 1 egg yolk and corn flour (or kfc flour), salt and pepper. Fried it till cook and crispy.

Another wok stir fries 4 minced garlics and 2 salted egg yolk nicely with vege oil, then add fried crabs with lots of scallion to go with.

Bread Mushroom Frittata


Lately mak suka banget buat egg frittata nih tau. Kerana ianya mudah and one dish meal. Seperti biasa sayang roti-roti yang 'terbiar' dari membazir mak buatlah egg frittata with bread and mushroom nih.

Anak-anak mak nih asal ada egg, cheese,sausages mushroom semua jalan... so senang kerja mak nih... lagipun Babah dia kerja selalu hanya kami tiga beranak sahaja.

Mudahjer campak-campak juga lah...

I french loaf shredded
4 eggs
1cup milk
4 tbsp butter
1tbsp cinnamon powder
4 sausages sliced
6 shiitake mushroom sliced
1 big tomato sliced
salt and pepper

Mixed everything and bake at 200°C at 20-25 minutes and meal is ready.

Stew Kambing Mbekkkkk...



Tak pasal-pasal cakap omputih the last two entry kerana ada permintaan. Tapi canggunglahkan kita dah biasa cakap melayu dalam kolibuwuk ku ini... takpe...kita redah jerr cakap melayu semula lah... lebih selesa dan makmur.

Masa Hari Raya Haji yang lepas turn mak bikin makan-makan... so apalagi mak pikiaq punya pikiaq mak dan atas usulan anak-anak sedara mak, maka mak masaklah kegemaran mereka ini... alhamdullillah habis licin 10kg Mbekkk mereka balun dengan jayanya...

Nasib baik dulu masa babah suamiku suwuh buang kolibuwuk mak ... mmg lah mak sedih... dan di ganti pula dengan kuali aluminium besar nih syukur banget! ... dulu mak manalah tahu mak pandai masakkan... so skrg amat berguna cepat masak dan sungguh selesa mbekkk berenang-renang dalam kuali itu...

Kalau nak tanya resipi nih susah sikit nih main campak-campak jer... ada rempah kurma, rempah beryani, rempah soup, kayu manis cengkih, bawang many-may, bawang putih, halia, serai, lengkuas, tomato many2 about 3 dollar worth of fresh tomato alone tau di tambah pula sebotol tomato sos dan sebotol cili sos maggie... dan sedikit lada kisar... hasilnya memuaskan hati tetamu... alhamdullillah

Oh mak ada bikin bubur kacang durian tapi mak lupa nak potik gambarnya hahahhahahahaha...

Potato Frittata



Potato Frittata is one of my kids favorite food. One dish meals, Easy Peasy, No Worries. 

Inspired by my favorite Food Network shows and I improved a bit to my children liking.

Anything potato with cheese definitely my children favorites, top with sausages and slice chicken.

4 potatoes peel, cut, boil, drain and perfect mashed with 2 tbsp of butter, 1/2 cup of milk salt, pepper added 2 egg whisked and mixed together.

Slice sausages, the amount up to your own discretion. One big onion mince and thinly slice chicken breast seasoned with black pepper sauce, grilled with cut sausages under low heat till cook.


Chopped parsley, lettuce, sliced tomatoes and shredded cheese. Mixed everything together, grease your pan and bake at 18°C about 30 minutes.

Pastry Cinnamon Rolls


I'm not a chef but a housewife. I love to cook simple, easy ways of cooking delicious dishes for my family.

I'm always looking for something easy and fast to cook. I do try to come up with something new every now and then. But not always, unless I'm in the right mood. Tee hee hee...

Latest, I've created these little tiny pastry cinnamon rolls. 

I bought a packet of 6 instant pastry, smoothen it with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon powder. Roll and cut into small pieces, top with more brown sugar and sliced Almond. Bake at 170°C at about 10-15 minutes bake till you can see little crunchy edges.

Nyum Nyum!! An instant hit! 

Don't be disheartened if you can't get an instant pastry, instead you can use an instant prata. Be happy and be creative!
